Academy 4 Kids Day Nursery is situated in a beautiful listed building, primarily as St. James School founded in 1809 as a school for boys.
On the 11th March 1977 it opened officially for Nursery classes by Andrew Pares - Mayor, Margaret Thatcher - M. P, Bill Westwood - Bishop, Norman Gilmore - Rector and Adrian Benjamin - Vicar.
Then in the summer of 2003 Academy 4 Kids was established.
The quality and standards of the Academy is to ensure the Children play in a bright, stimulating and welcoming environment, where they make excellent progress and achieve well in all areas of their learning. Activities are very well planned and thought out, providing a good balance of adult led and child led activities.
This is due to the dedication of our highly qualified staff that have a very clear understanding of child development and how young children learn. All staff have an extensive knowledge of EYFS and is committed to implementing it to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Follow on the philosophy:
Our philosophy at Academy 4 Kids is to provide a warm, nurturing environment, helping each child to feel secure, confident and valued, by supporting their individual needs and recognising individual family values and relationships.
Ensuring each child reaches their full potential by creating an enriching, creative environment and promoting positive attitudes and developing exciting opportunities to explore and gain knowledge through play.
In addition to the EYFS curriculum at Academy 4 Kids we have the complementary benefit of French lessons provided by a qualified French teacher on a weekly basis, and Stretch 'n' Grow which is an action packed themed exercise programme which teaches the children about their muscles and how to use them, continuing the children's motivation and interests, with a varied prospectus.
